Shelley over at the House of Smiths is talking about the open shelving craze. Head over to their page to check out some gorgeous ideas! We transformed our kitchen earlier this year and are loving our open shelving! Here is a quick before and after that shows how it really opened up our kitchen...
You can find more pictures of our finished kitchen over in our source list post!
That turned out beautifully!!! Thanks for sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteThis is the perfect utilization of open shelves, I love it!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I'm trying to decide what I want to do with our kitchen. We just moved into a house that's about 12 years old {not very old at all!} and I don't love the cabinets but we're not up to painting {again!} or putting in new ones. I love your subway tile - I think we're going to do the same.
ReplyDeleteThanks, we love the open shelving! I think it's also good to have some cabinets so you can hide those ugly canned goods or anything else you want out of sight. All of our everyday items are on the open shelves for easy access - and we've never had a problem with dust or disorganization like some people predict. It also makes the kitchen feel more like a room and not just a plain box with a bunch of cabinets - plus we can switch up the theme/look of the kitchen with just a few seasonal items on the shelves.
ReplyDeleteWe also love the white subway tile. It's so subtle but adds some sparkle to the room. I didn't want to install a colored/patterned backsplash because my tastes change all the time. I figured the white subway tile would never go out of style and can be spiced up by colorful accessories if necessary.
Your kitchen looks lovely! And I love the open shelving! :)
